Recycled
featuring VALYA
December 17, 2016 through January 19, 2017

This exhibition focuses on the idea of “being recycled,” drawing inspiration from the notion that the Universe continuously recycles cosmic dust. The work on display uses leftover materials to emphasize this understanding that everything is recycled. Such mediums include: threads, newspaper, fabric scraps, second-hand clothes, wool, and various leftovers from other projects in previous exhibitions.

VALYA utilizes many fiber techniques, including quilting, felting, and silk painting to create her imagery. VALYA’s primarily neutral color palette and experimental forms are prominent in both her art works and her art-to-wear works (e.g., garments).
